My name is Julie, but I also go by Celes or, on the rare occasion, Scoot. I'm old (read: in my twenties) though often I still feel like a kid. I can be mature when necessary, though.

I'm still in college because up until recently, I didn't really know what I wanted to major in. I believe I have an idea now, but I'm not sure what career path I'll be partaking in once I get my degree. Guess I'll be figuring that out soon enough. :) I'm now majoring in English, with hopes to write or edit something in the future but as of right now, I don't know if that will be what I end up doing or not. I've had others tell me that I'd made a good teacher, but I personally feel like I do not have the patience for that, unfortunately.

My hobbies mainly include technology. Meaning, I play video games, watch videos, muck about on the internet, listen to music. I used to be a pretty avid anime fan until a year or so ago, I guess. My favorite series of all time is Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon and I still have a soft spot for it. A very big soft spot. I'm really excited for the new English translated manga coming out next month. It would make my decade if the anime were re-released in America as well, but I am not holding my breath. I collect Sailor Moon merchandise, though I have not purchased anything in over a year. Bills kind of make that hard to do.

As for video games, I mainly enjoy platformers and role playing games, with most of my favorite games being from the SNES-era. Super Mario RPG, Super Mario World, and Final Fantasy VI are three of my favorites, and the latter is where I got my online nickname (Celes) from. :) I also really enjoyed Final Fantasy IV, VII, IX, X, and XII.

Sadly, as you can see on my Steam page, I do not play many games on there. 'Why? Doesn't she have Team Fortress 2 in her interests?' There's a simple reason for that and it's the fact that my poor computer cannot handle any type of 3D game right now. My video card is pretty bad off and I need a new one as well as a new power source. As you can tell from my poor use of computer-hardware-lingo I don't know much about repairing them so that is why my computer is still unable to process most games!

I do play and sometimes watch games such as TF2 at my boyfriend's house, though, so I'm not completely out of the loop. ;) Speaking of my boyfriend, we have been together over 1 and 1/2 years and we are still going strong. I do talk about him fairly often in my journal.

What else is there to say about me? I work retail but only on the weekends (I hate it and really want to get out), I lovelovelove kitty cats, I hate tornadoes and thunderstorms, and I have an addiction to Pepsi Throwback.

Hello! I saw your addme post just a minute ago hehe. I think you sound great. I play video games. Primarily City of Heroes right now. I never played FFVI, but I've played 1, 2, 7 and 8.

Sucks about your video card. I just upgraded a couple months ago although it wasn't much of an upgrade. I had to though because the incarnate trials in CoH were unplayable. At least now I can run them fine, but only on minimum graphics settings hehe.

I'm currently trying to save some money to buy a monitor because this one is about shot. I've had it for 11 years.

FFVI is great, and so is IV. If you ever have the chance to, you should try playing them. Heck, go for IX, too, because it's also awesome. I didn't like VIII, though. Couldn't get into it for the life of me.

I can't even play games on the minimal graphics settings. If I try to, my computer will just overheat and shut off. Once I tried playing TF2 and after about 30 minutes my computer shut off and would not start back up for a day. I thought it was a goner. :(

Hi! I don't know if this is too late, but I recently saw your entry on the addme and I thought you sounded like a cool person :) I'm looking to make real friends, too. Ummmm I'm K. I'm really horrible at this intro stuff. I never know what to say without sounding like an idiot. Anyway... I like video games a lot. I played FF IX and X, and I'm currently playing III for the DS (it's so adorable, holy crap). It makes me sad that platformers are basically dying, because they're ridiculously fun. I'm pretty close to beating Psychonauts, which is an excellent game from that genre but it's basically one of those games that no one played XDD I like reading quite a bit too, but I go through phases where I don't read at all. I'd be able to give you recommendations, though.

I tend to ramble sometimes. Sorry about that!

Wow, I only just got the notif for this. (Of course, if I only scrolled up when I replied to the comment below, I would have seen yours, but I didn't :x)

I tried playing III and I didn't really like it. I'm currently playing the DS version of IV, though, and I'm definitely enjoying that. It's cute but kind of depressing at times, as IV tends to be. IX is great, I'm glad you've played it. :) X is too, but it seems like more people have played that than IX.

I've heard of Psychonauts but never played it! So I guess it really is a game no one has played, haha.

Woo, Dreamwidth fail!

You're the second person to say that they didn't like III! It's starting to make me wonder whether or not the game is worth playing. It makes me happy that they're remaking a bunch of the older FF games, though! I didn't have an SNES, so I missed out on them. And a bunch of other games too.

This is probably kind of silly, but I'm always really happy to see other people who liked IX. It always seems like it gets a bad rap compared to VII and VIII (neither of which I haven't played. I'm sick of seeing everything related to VII all over the place, uugh).

III is probably worth it a bit, I just don't have a lot of patience for games that kick my ass a lot. :( I hope VI gets a remake like IV did! I would be so happy, provided they don't pick terrible voice actors or something. I wouldn't be happy if they made a sequel to it like they did with IV, since from what I've heard, IV: The After Years wasn't really good at all. They reused a lot from the original IV and charged about the full price a regular FF game would cost.

I loved IX. I'm not sure why ... I guess because it had a lot of throw backs to older FFs or something. That and I liked most of the cast, unlike VIII.

I did like VII, though, but I only played the original and not any of the later games. I think the VII series is being milked for all its worth, sadly.

I saw your request on Add Me and came to check out your journal! I think we have a lot in common! Not just with video games, but with being in our twenties and still feeling like kids! (Anyway, it's how you feel in your heart that's important, not your literal age! ^^;)

Also think it's awesome that you like anime! I lived in Japan for over a year and will go back for school, so I write about my experiences a lot when I'm there and try to share photos. I've been home for holiday for a while now so I haven't written about it in some time, but I definitely do! ^^
